Josh Kerr is really taking full advantage of 2011. After wrapping up the ASP Quiksilver Pro stop at Queensland, Kerr is launching his new movie Kerrazy Kronicles and took first at Boost Mobile's SurfSho. If that's not enough, Kerr took home a $25,000 check from the event! Not bad Mr. Kerr...not bad at all.
Bondi Beach held the Boost Mobile SurfSho this weekend, where more than 30,000 spectators came to watch. Josh Kerr battled it out against top names like Jack Freestone, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow and two-time event champion Owen Wright. The ASP article explains,
"[Kerr] won the event with a forehand mute grab air reverse that scored him a 9.0 (out of a possible 10) from the judges who said it was beautifully executed with great rotation. His closest competitor was Junior World Champion Jack Freestone who scored an 8.0 for the same manoeuvre, followed by Julian Wilson with a score of 7.23."
