Johnnie Paxson has been making waves in in the snowboard community the last few seasons. After snagging some shots in Rome's second team movie, No Correct Way, Johnnie, who hails from Gresham, Oregon, let his work ethic, drive, and ability to put down impressive tricks (ie his switch bs double cork nine from two summers ago, and more) coupled with landings as agile as a cat's, drive his success. Last season he snagged ender in FODT's Hard to Earn, and this season, coming off an injury, he's already logged time in Hood and a trip to South America. On top the momentum that he snowboarding career has, Johnnie is a genuine guy, who's well-timed one liners keep everyone around him laughing.
Two summers ago while at Mount Hood, Johnnie was spotted by a fashion photographer, and whisked into a photo shoot at Hood the next day. Now, Johnnie is one of the faces of Ralph Lauren's new line of men's fragrance: he is a boy of Big Pony. A new experience and some extra cash never hurt anyone, and Johnnie definitely deserves his success--ESPN interviewed Paxson to get the lowdown on what modeling is really like and how it fits in with his explosive snowboarding career. Johnnie's answers and poignant and hilarious, check it out.
