Jeff Spicoli Tries to Smuggle Weed on Surfboard

In an area that has become a hotbed of drug ttrafficking, pro surfer Jeff Spicoli was arrested after trying to smuggle in 24 pounds of marijuana Sunday morning while paddling in to Imperial Beach on his surfboard.

The Border Patrol, who made the arrest, said Spicoli threw a blue duffel bag in the ocean when he was ordered to come ashore.  Border Patrol agents had to go into the water to take Spicoli off his surfboard and arrest him.

The blue duffel bag later washed ashore; its contents were five packages of marijuana worth approximately $74,400.  When asked to comment, Spicoli said, "People on ‘ludes should not drive."
