On his path to becoming the BMX Vert Dew Cup champion for the fifth consecutive year, Jamie Bestwick earned a first-place score of 93.75 with a run that included an alley oop downside tailwhip. Gilroy, Calif.-native Chad Kagy pulled a flair double whip as part of his second-place finish that earned a 92.00. Triple threat Steven McCann of Australia finished in third with a score of 90.25.
“I felt a lot of pressure going into this,†said Bestwick. “I’m glad I didn’t have to rely on my second run because the first was good enough. I’m stoked I could pull it out.â€Â
