Alyeska…it’s a small resort but an amazing one. It was a ghost town up there yesterday. We were about the only ones on the mountain, along with a few fellow competitors. The resort didn’t open until 10:30 so we started skiing around 11am.

The resort is smaller, but steep!! We checked out the venues from the bottom, steep and gnarly. It was fun. The snow was good some places had a thin crust layer but for the most part it was really good snow. At least it’s not the spring mush we’ve been skiing in Utah.

Today it’s dumping outside. The flakes are the big fluffy kind. We’re taking it kind of easy today. Not much to inspect since we can’t see anything. We’re also leery of getting an inspection run prior to competition. Let’s hope we get one. Things look a lot different from the bottom than when you’re actually standing on top of it.
