While no news has come down yet regarding the eventual media rights takeover of the ASP, the organization is releasing a weekly video segment called the ASP Weekly Pulse.  It can definitely do without the cheesy guy hosting the segment at the beginning (why does surfing have so many crappy amateurs as broadcasters?) but it’s a good overall segment that updates fans of competitive surfing with the latest news.  The debut edition of the ASP Weekly Pulse features Stephanie Gilmore’s 5th ASP World Title, a preview of the Billabong Pro Teahupo'o and the chaos at Huntington Beach that is the Nike US Open of Surfing.
