The Meadowlands retail and entertainment complex, featuring an indoor snow park, continues to make slow progress in northern New Jersey. The mega mall recently changed its name from Xanadu to Meadowlands, presumably to erase previous negative connotations based on delays and false promises.
The complex will feature retail outlets, restaurants, and events, but the main draws are expected to be the Pepsi Globe and the SnowPark. The Globe will be the tallest ferris wheel in North America, and will be popular for offering scenic views of the famous New York City skyline. The SnowPark will provide slopes for skiing and snowboarding along with lessons and snowy children's play areas.
Meadowlands hopes to be open for the 2014 Super Bowl, which leaves a long wait before American and international tourists will be able to hit its indoor slopes. Until then, you can either anticipate how awesome it will be or condemn it for sucking the soul from a sport that should involve real mountains and real snow.
Make your own judgments. Read the full article or visit the Meadowlands website.
