2011 Gatorade Free Flow Tour Announced

With "Flow to Pro" as the theme to Gatorade's Free Flow Tour, top amateurs in both skating and BMX will be competing across the country in hope to make it to the finals and compete on a professional contest course.

The 2011 Free Flow tour has 31 contests at 21 parks; the first stop on the tour will be on May 15th and Skater's Edge in Mass.

Kicking off the seventh season of the summer Gatorade Free Flow Tour is a major success in our support of up-and-coming talent in skateboarding and BMX, said Carla Hess, action sports team manager for Gatorade. Expanding our contests to new parks while providing professional-quality contests will set us apart yet again.

Gaining contest experience while on the tour has been a valuable asset for amateurs who look to become professionals. Athletes like Chaz Ortiz, Mike Spinner and Timmy Knuth have had pro success after getting their start on the Free Flow Tour.

Even 2010 skate park Champ, Alec Majerus has already seen success after his experience in the tour Winning the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals last summer was an exciting experience. One month I was competing on professional courses as an amateur, with the professionals watching us and giving us advice, and the next I was in Las Vegas competing against those same pros.
