As a company, Banquet recently made the decision to get into the illicit gambling business (you can read about it here), and our first test run is with the Right Guard Open stop of the Dew Tour. You can swing by Banquet World Headquarters and place your bets in person, and we’ll happily throw you down in our books. Here’s what our board is looking like for the BMX Dirt comp:

Ryan Nyquist – 3-1 Nyquist took home the prize on the Baltimore stop of the tour, posting second in the prelims and winning in the finals. Nyquist finished 4th and 5th overall in dirt on the 2006 and 2005 tours. Consistency can be a problem for him: he won the 2006 Right Guard Open dirt comp, and followed that up with a 10th place finish at the next stop.

Ryan Guettler
– 6-1 - Never count out Geuttler on dirt. He took first overall on the Dew Tour in 2005, and fourth in 2006. Guettler’s a little tough to predict on the loose stuff though: since winning the Toyota Challenge stop of the 2006 tour, he’s finished 11th at the Playstation Pro, and 12th in Baltimore.

Allan Cooke
– 20-1 – The (sorta) good news? Cooke was eighth in Baltimore on dirt. The bad news? He’s never finished better than 6th in a Dew Tour dirt comp, and that was in 2005.

Cameron White
– 6-1 – One word: due. White’s got exactly one Dew Tour dirt win, despite consistently being in or near the top three. Got second in Baltimore. Look for him.

Corey Bohan – 5- 1 - A consistent top-three finisher on the 2006 tour, Bohan bagged fifth over in Baltimore.

Colin McKay
– 25 -1 McKay is always hanging around the middle… fourth, fifth. He claimed fourth again in Baltimore. An appealing dark horse, if you’re into those sorts of bets.

Luke Parslow – 5 -1 – Speaking of due, how about a guy who had three second-place finishes and two third-place finishes on the 2006 tour? He’s gotta win sometime, why not in the home of the Steamer?

Cameron White – 5 – 1 - Second place in Baltimore? Kid’s hot.

The Field - 30 -1 – Fashionable picks could include Chris Doyle, Rob Darden, or Dave Dillewaard. But that is up to you.

So, bring your hard-earned cash by the Banquet office, and lay it down. BMX dirt final is on Friday, starting 7:30 EDT. If you’re too lazy to get over here by then, just tell us whom you like to win in the comments
section. If you’re right we might send you something. Might.

Totino\'s Field Notes

Totino's Field Notes

Totino's Field Notes - Road to the 2010 US Open of Snowboarding. It's been an interesting year for Totino's team riders Danny Davis and Mason Aguirre. After starting strong in the Fall and early season, with great contest results at the Totino's Open in Breckenridge, both riders suffered injuries. Danny is out for the year, but Mason recently came back and plans to throw down at next week's US Open of Snowboarding in Stratton, VT.
