Backyard Bang 2010 from SixEleven on Vimeo.
The Backyard Bang just went down in Denver this weekend and SixEleven was on hand to capture the action. So, even if you are sitting on your computer, waiting for the lifts to open in your neck of the woods (cough cough East Coast), you can check out what happened in the streets of the Mile High City on Saturday.
Quebecois Frank Bourgeois took first for the men and walked away with a cool $1500. In the last two years, the BYB has tapped winners that have gone on to make proper names for themselves as rail slayers: Forest Bailey won in Denver and Jed Anderson won in Portland. With that track record and the well-known fact that Quebec produces plainly insane rail riding 'boarders, this could be a springboard for Frank Bourgeois to start off his season.
And let's not forget that there's a Scion parked on the course, in between two launch ramps. What happens when a car company parks a car as part of the set up at a rail jam? A snowboarder attempts a backflip over it, lands on it, and busts up the car. Whoops.
