Here's a couple fun reasons to nerd out on Twitter this weekend:

First, my friend and boardblarging colleague South of The North is hosting the Easter Shoe Hunt this Saturday, April 11 in the Washington, DC area: He'll be sending out clues to his Twitter-hunt on Saturday, and is giving out a mess of gift certificates for free kicks from Vans, Nike SB, DC Shoe Co, and Loyal Laces, plus decks from Convoy Skateboards and a bunch of other stuff. Even if you don't live in the DC area, start following twitter.com/southofthenorth before 5pm EST this Friday, April 10 to enter the lottery for a free pair of shoes from the Vans Customs shop. Follow him anyway, even if you don't care about free shoes: He's my favorite dude to have along on a snowboarding adventure or skate road trip and he always has the inside scoop on shoe drops, new gear, and nerdy stuff.

Tony Hawk has a Twitter hunt happening too: Follow him at twitter.com/tonyhawk to get clues for where to grab a gangload of free decks and other "eggs" hidden around various places. From the looks of it, Hawk takes his Twittering pretty seriously: Must have a lot of downtime with his iPhone while in development on that new game he's working on!
