There's a lot of skate royalty crowning going on around here: Sheckler with his crown graphics claiming Dew Tour staking out Dew Tour fiefdom, Blind and Jake Duncombe grabbing Thrasher King of the Road honors, and now a rack of ams duking it out in the DC King of Barcelona showdown.
Pablo Domingez ruled at stop one, on the marble and metal at Sants, trailed by Jouge Antoniall Boneat, Christian Sanchez, Reverton Corello, and Leeander Geelhoed. Over at the Forum for the second contest, Patrick Boes ruled the banks, ledges, stairs, wallrides and quarter pipes, followed by Thomas Winkle, Christian Sanchez, Koenrad Helsen, and David Caslelloula. (Transworld has a hot second of footy online here).
The just-announced secret spot for the final stage of the contest, to be held on Sunday the 16th, turns out to be a combination of spots over the course of the day, starting and finishing at the MACBA contemporary art museum (first at the big four stair set) and stopping by for some manual mania at El Paralelo, both spots we'd predicted would be among the contenders.
Related: I've learned there are some serious sneaker fetishists among my readers, so be sure to go to the DC King of Barcelona site and click on "Shoe" in the nav bar up top to see the limited edition king of Barcelona Manteca 3. I couldn't immediately figure out how to copy and paste the photo to save you the trouble, but it's a nice touch: Photo prints on the sidewall of some of the city's best spots, a Barcelona subway map on the lining, Barcelona flag on the heel, and flag colorway on the sole. ÂÂ
