With the high financial times of the mid-2000's now behind us a shortlived but world-renowned tenant has quietly moved out, Clientele.
A block down Lafayette Street from Supreme and Triple 5 Soul, Clienetele was a sneaker shop that cut past all the BS. The place was a stripped down little space that just had two walls of shoes, a single rack of shirts and a display case full of thousands of the same Clientele logo sticker. The shopping experience was simple but efficient. They stocked the latest Nike, Vans and limited edition sneakers from other brands.
Every industry is being hit hard right now. It's no surprise that smaller companies like Clientele, who rely on customers with A LOT of disposable income are having trouble.
Clientele has also found a new home online to push their in-house clothing line. Soho itself doesn't seem to be struggling either. Just about every vacant storefront seems to be under construction and awaiting new tenants as we speak.
