Chuck Barfoot started out as a surfboard-shaper in the 70s, and was one of the first people to make the transition from surfing to snowboarding. He constructed boards for Tom Sims and then eventually became independent in the 80s and created Barfoot Snowboards.
At that time, Barfoot met Canadian snowboarder Ken Achenbach, who heavily promoted Barfoot Snowboards. Barfoot hasn't let his success keep him from hitting the waves and the snow himself; even 40 years later, he's still an avid surfer, skater, and snowboarder.

Remembering Mt Baldy; they wouldn't even let a snowboard near a lift - hike it up the hill with the awesome Barfoot prototype; steel fins included. My buddy Mike Kloek has always spoke great words of Chuck Barfoot. xoko
