A new version of the 2012 raid at Lower Trestles has just been released, with a lot more crazy surf footage. Great surfing amidst the carnage.
About a year ago one of the funniest surf videos ever was released on the internet. Captain Barbosa's Raid On Lower Trestles was the brainchild of Riley Metcalf with filming, editing and directing by Jacob Eptstein. It was pure genius, a gathering of a large group of surfers all dressed up in various garb with a funky set of boards. Some brought boogie boards. Others brought with them the Costco Wave Storm. Epic wouldn’t begin to describe the chaos at Lower Trestles that this caused. You can only imagine how stunned, and possibly frustrated, surfers and lifeguards were upon the arrival of this mass contingency of eclectic surfers.
Fast forward to a year later and the group made their return for an encore performance. A complete takeover and domination of the Lower Trestles peak. The only character that was missing from the original version was green man. Otherwise, standing ovation! This year’s version is also a bit shorter and features a lot more crass behavior, yet delivers in all the same hilarity and glory. Enjoy some of the funniest surf videos to hit the internet, with the original below the newer versions.
