Blue skies in Kitty Hawk, NC.Costa Mesa, CA (August 16, 2010): The 3rd pit stop on the 2010 Rip Curl GromSearch presented by H2O Overdrive saw 2 things: amazing conditions and top-notch performances, as the mid-Atlantic's top talent proceeded to tear apart Lillian St., Kitty Hawk on North Carolina s famed Outerbanks this past weekend.

Fresh off an Indo boat trip, Cam Richards came in full throttle. Cam meticulously tore apart the solid overhead selects on offer all day, and eventually took to the air stomping a massive forehand stock air out in to the flats. This would also prove to be the nail in the coffin, grabbing him a slot in the 14/u at the National Final come October with the victory as well as the H2O Overdrive Maneuver of the Event worthy of $100.

Cam would carry this momentum into the Boys 16/u where he held off a surging Dylan Kowalski and Trevor Thornton by stomping another huge rotation, making it a $200 payday for the young South Carolina upstart.

My game plan was to do a bunch of floaters, said champ Cam Richards. When that fell through I just went for a few big airs. I don t like to hold back in heats, and today it paid off.

The Boys 12/u saw a field of 18 frothing youngsters, one being Quentin Turko who pulled out some last minute heroics that got him the win over Boyd Brown, Stevie Pittman and Billy McGarry. In the Girls 16/u Chelsea Tuach would post two back to back 7.5 s and runaway with the lady s title.

With stop #3 in the books, the GromSearch movement heads south to New Smyrna, Florida, where the final four qualifiers will be named for National Final which will run in conjunction with the Rip Curl Pro Search in Puerto Rico this October.
