My buddy Kyle is a designer. What this means, is that he is qualified to identify what is visually pleasing and what is not. He's generally on point with this type of thing, even though we've had our differences on distinctions between different shades of red. He recently purchased a pair of Brigada's The Pazzo sunglasses, which are pretty darn sharp. They're Andrew Reynold's signature glasses.
Not only are they fun styled and in fun colors, they came in a really nice hard case with the Brigada logo on the top. Nice packaging is always a bonus. With my love/obsession with this style of sunglasses (particularly Oakley Frogskins in my case), I took a couple of superphone photos to post online. I had been totally oblivious to Brigada previously and am assuming there's some other snowboarders out there who are as well, and who would be excited to become more familiar with the company.
Reynolds, Erik Ellington, Terry Kennedy and Jim Greco started Brigada in 2006 but only recently have the sunnies been hitting shelves. They created the company out of the realization that there were no skater-operated sunglasses companies and figured that needed to change. Running kind of a parallel line to Ashbury and with a heavy crew behind it, Brigada is worth checking out. They're first offering in Spring 2008 had a pretty cool mafia-theme to it and the glasses below are from the 2009 collection. I'm not sure what they're doing now, but hopefully still making cool sunglasses? They've only hit three spots on the East Coast so far, but Pioneers is on the tip, so to try them on in person, the Seacoast of NH is your spot.
