Blake “Bilko” Williams, the Aussie rider who was expected to do big things this year in the States found himself stuck in a Baltimorehospital after injuring himself on his second run at the Dew Tour. Despite hisinjuries he still managed a 2nd place finish, and put some serious pressure on Tour favorite Nate Adams. Here’s a few words from Bilko himself:
Well guys the first roundof the dew tour did and didn’t really go to plan... I wasn’t feeling 100% yeton the different ramps and new bikes so i decided to ride not to wild andsecure a good finish. i ended up second with out a cliffy flip or 360 combo'sso that was a good sign of my level of riding but unfortunately in my secondrun i sailed on a trick and had a few jumps left so i thought i'd pull a rulerflip for the crowd, hadn't had any trouble with one all week, same ramp i hadbeen doing them off and all. I hit the ramp and pulledharder to flip, standard for a ruler flip, but i came off the ramp un even, iwent to push my legs out and didn’t feel right so i stayed with the bike.realising i was spinning way to fast i still kept my legs off and my weight onmy levers to try and slow the bike down but it didn’t work enough. i overrotated by a fair bit and landed on my legs. i broke 2 bones in my ankle anddislocated it, broke the top section of all my toes and my fib.So here i sit, still in Baltimore hospital waiting for surgery to fix the mess. I’ll be off the bike for2 months which means missing X, anyway, these things happen... Keep it safe, BrrrrrrrraaaaaaappppppppBilko
