Keala Kennely is considered one of surfing's most hard charging women. A native of the Hawaii, Kennely is no stranger to heavy surf and big barrels. Last Saturday, however, Keala took off on a massive left at Puerto Escondido and scored what is argubably being considered the best barrel ever ridden by a female. Describing the wave, Kennely exclaimed, "I was just really lucky to get that barrel; there were so many closeouts and probably one of only five makeable barrels the entire session. I owe it all to Coco (Hobagles); there's no way I could've paddled into awake like that. Also, without the speed I had coming into it (from the tow rope) I wouldn't have been able to make it through all the sections and come out of that barrel. Coco picked the perfect wave and put me in the perfect spot."
