Back to School...Joey circa ??

As the days of summer come to a close, real concerns and responsibilities begin to arise.  No one is a fan of getting up at 6am for an algebra class and if you even make it on time, what are you going to wear?

Guys might I suggest basically anything from the So R.ad Collection.  In this “Back to School Must Have” edition we got to hear from pro rider Joey Brezinski as he talks about the new skate division from Rusty, “So R.ad”.

The line features inventive graphic tees, insanely smart jackets (headphones built in? Seriously.) and they are also doing a collaborating with Diamond Supply Company.  Needless to say but the So R.ad line is, well, so rad.

 

Style Save Me is total fan of So R.ad. Can we get a quick little background story on the So.Rad Collection?  You know, how did it start and what made you get into working with apparel?

Joey Brezinski: Well I always wanted to do a brand called rad. When rusty approached me with this opportunity It was a dream come true.. as far as apparel goes I get to put all my ideas in to fashion...it’s pretty Rad.

We heard you guys have teamed up with Diamond Supply Co.  What should we expect to see?  (We saw the some of the jackets from the wired series and are already in love!)

JB:  Yeah, I’ve been a long time Diamond team rider and this collaboration was the first thing i wanted to do.  We have 3 pieces in the line: a wind breaker, pull over, and a T shirt all super clean.

 

Alright, so being that SSM is obsessed with music we love the idea of wearing sweatshirts with instant access to tunes.  What do you normally listen to when wearing like the No Where Fast fleece?

JB:  JayZ, Lil Wayne, The Knife

 

We love So R.ad’s super fun, sometimes random tee styles! Where did you guys come up with the graphics for the “Have a nice day” or “Staycation” designs?

JB:  I just sit down with the designer and we go crazy... just what’s fun and current in social media etc..

 

How about Pizza…we saw her on some of the tees.  How is she handling the instant stardom and popularity?

JB:  She's super busy actually.. she tweets like a maniac and has some dog food endorsements now.

Lastly, the So R.ad line looks great especially for all these kids heading back to school…anything in the works for the next line of products?

JB:  Denim is out now – it has stretch in it and super comfortable – great to skate in. We are bringing in a “Sunday” boardshort that matches the Sunday shirt, and some top secret ideas that I can’t disclose…
