Alex Ferrato on the down rail.Chances are your first experience sliding on snow occurred in your backyard, or perhaps a local sledding hill. Family, friends, flying saucers. Stuff of nostalgia. Like Norman Rockwell and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation rolled into one. Eventually though, your need for speed and progression pushed you past playtime activities. The allure of real mountains and the mechanics of high-level manufacturing took precedence. Well, not for Alex Ferrato, who, as a member of the "Snow Eaters" free sledding club, travels from Ohio to Vermont to New Hampshire tobust out kneeboardslides, shifties and cork 720s that not only make him an extreme sledder but a true trendsetter.
