The new Bamboo Hybrid Board and Dave Kinsey's
"Inhumanate II," the artwork that inspired it.
The Arbor Collective just came out with a new skateboard featuring the artwork of Dave Kinsey. His graphic will grace the deck of the Bamboo Hybrid, one of Arbor's most popular boards. It is a multi-dimensional long skateboard with a wide mid-section, concave profile and rounded kick tail/nose. This gives it longboard stability with real flat-ground/park performance. And, as always, Arbor uses ecologically based, natural materials as alternatives to the usually environmentally-harmful products in the skate market today.
Dave Kinsey is best known for blending the urban landscape with the human condition. His piece, "Inhumanate II" has a graffiti-like quality with starkly contrasting white, black, and red -- perfect for a deck. Kinsey has been featured in publications like The New York Times, The Washtington Post, The London Times, Blackbook, BLK/MRKT Two and Juztapose. He attempts to capture the universal essence of the humanity through an energetic portrayal of urban figures through the use of a range of mediums.
"Dave Kinsey's work has become such a visual fixture in the surf, skate, and snow community," says Joel Woodman, Arbor's art director. "Few artists have had his level of influence on this particular subculture." With this new skateboard, Kinsey will have even more influence and impact on skaters.
