Over the weekend he won NSMB's "Airprentice" competition. Every year NSMB puts on a search for a new team rider. Together with their sponsors they pull together a huge prize package and bring their top-20 contestants up to Whistler for a weekend.
The event is designed to test riders' abilities as well as their character - since part of being a sponsored rider is also being a spokesman.
The announcement did not include a writeup of exactly how Sherry got the crown. In years past there have been war stories about up and comers making it to whistler, talking a big game and falling far, far short.
Congrats to Andrew. He'll now be riding a fleet of Specialized bikes and have enough Denny's gift cards to feed a small country.
