I’m in Alaska!!! It’s what I always thought it’d be, big mountains that run into a body of water. Last night as the sun was setting I thought "I’m the luckiest person around to be able to see all these beautiful places around the world."
I flew into Anchorage yesterday and had to wait about five hours for someone to come pick me up. I had a good book so it kept me occupied. It’s kind of a bitter sweet, the last comp of the year. I’m exhausted and ready for a break but on the other hand, I’ll miss all my friends and the excitement of traveling and competing.
Today I’m going to go out and ski around and just check out the mountain. It’s not a huge resort but it looks like it has some fun places to ski. So we’ll see. And I’m sure I’ll check out the venues while I’m out there today.
