So, when Thursday's FMX Prelims began at the final stop of the Dew Tour in Orlando, Florida, there were no big surprises at the end of the contest. Nate Adams stepped right into the first place qualifying position with relative ease. Adams has already won the points race and is guaranteed to take home the season title, so Orlando is just gravy for him.
Before Prelims, he said, "I've already won the championship but still, for myself, I want to win this event (Prelims). That way I can go out last in the Final and see what everyone is doing. So far, so good," says Adams.
"Last year I didn't give up an inch and I still ended up getting third. It's a different year and a different day. If it's enough, then it's good but if it's not then I'll still live to ride another day," says Adams.
Twitch put in a nearly perfect run to land the 2nd place qualifying position. Todd Potter put the smack down for 3rd in the Prelims followed by Taka and Dustin Miller. Mike Mason and Jeremy Lusk, who are usually top-fivers (Mason won last year's Orlando stop), had a few bobbles setting them in 7th and 8th place respectively. So it will be interesting to see what tricks they have up their sleeves tomorrow.
Saturday's FMX Finals will begin at 7:30pm Orlando-time.
