While the lineup was made up of the usual suspects, those suspects are the most formidable FMX competitors in the world. At the bottom of the lineup, and first to hit the course, was Myles Richmond followed by Mathieu Rebeaud, Mike Mason, Wiley Fullmer, Dustin Miller, Taka Higashino, Jeremy Lusk, Todd Potter, Twitch, and none other than the mighty Nate Adams.
Wiley Fullmer took the lead right off the bat with a blazing 89.67 and stayed in first place even after first runs from Mike Mason, Dustin Miller, and Jeremy Lusk. And then Todd Potter stepped up with a Slayer soundtrack backing him up, and smoked Fullmer's score with a 91.5.
Twitch, who showed everyone he was back on his game last month when he won the LG FMX World Championships in L.A., looked confident coming into the Finals. Halfway through his run Twitch landed a no-handed backflip to a whipped out backflip on a line no one else had flipped back-to-back. And that was enough to overtake Potter.
Then it was Nate Adams' turn to put the smack down. And put the smack down he did. Apparently, it wasn't enough that he was already the points leader for the season and had the Dew Tour title wrapped up, because he came out swinging from the get-go. He threw down a flawless run pulling off a flurry of lazy boy backflips, backflip nac-nacs, Indies flips, and backflip heel clickers. Needless to say, Adams took the lead and never gave it back.
After winning Saturday's leg of the Dew Tour AND the season Dew Tour title AND Athlete of the Year, Nate Adams walked away with $115,000... just this weekend. Good job, buddy.
