Last year, Salomon's Backyard Bang brought a rail jam to downtown Denver, and for the first time, the locals from Summit County and the rest of Colorado, gathered with excited city-dwellers to enjoy some snowboarding. It was a huge success and so Salomon and The Art Institute of Colorado are back at it again. Says Salomon and Bonfire's Rian Rhoe, "All of Summit County comes down to hangout and party and watch the snowboarding, and then all the Denver kids roll up for free product and pro sightings, and it s like "ahhhhhh," just so much enthusiasm for snowboarding."
There's a pre-event art show, a bar in a formerly-working church located conveniently next to the venue, and all of your Rocky Mountain homies. Don't miss out on the Second Annual BYB.

Backyard Bang Rail Jam Brings Snowboarding Back to the City
[DENVER, CO, November 3, 2010] Kick off the winter season with the 2nd annual Denver Backyard Bang Rail Jam. A grassroots snowboarding competition, the Salomon Backyard Bang will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 11 am to 4 pm, at The Art Institute of Colorado at 1200 Lincoln Street in downtown Denver.
Hosted by Salomon Snowboards and The Art Institute of Colorado, the homegrown rail jam brings several of the best up and coming pros and amateurs from the Rocky Mountain region and beyond back to compete in the heart of Denver s Golden Triangle District.
Backyard Bang will welcome appearances by Salomon pro riders Jed Anderson, Chris Grenier, Louif Paradis, Bode Merrill, Desiree Melancon, Scotty Arnold and more. Riders interested in competing should send links to photos, videos and anything else that is relevant to bybdenver@gmail.com to apply before November 8th.
The competition kicks off with practice at 12:15 pm, followed by the first of three heats at 1:00 pm. The second and third heats begin at 1:25 pm and 1:50 pm, with finals following at 2:20 pm. Awards will be presented at 4:00 pm.
Over 30 distinctively-designed snowboards created by Art Institute of Colorado students, alumni and prospective students will be on display in the John Jellico Gallery at The Art Institute of Colorado from November 10-19, 2010. The collection of snowboards will be auctioned during the Backyard Bang Rail Jam on Saturday, November 20, 2010. All proceeds benefit The Education Foundation and support student scholarships.
The event is open to the public at no charge and will include food, refreshments and a wide range of entertainment options. Interactive games, giveaways, autograph signing with pro riders and a DJ booth will all be a part of the day s activities.
