Red Bull X-Fighters will tour the world again in 2008 with stops in Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Spain and the good ol' USA. X-Fighters has become one of the favorite contests for pro riders. Somehow, Red Bull has a knack for promoting the shit out of edgy sports, but still maintains the integrity of the sport. That's one of the reasons why Travis Pastrana still rides X-Fighters, but refuses to enter X Games and the Dew Tour anymore.
The 2008 season is expected to blow this year out of the water with new innovations and bigger than ever crowds. Numerous countries applied to host one the Red Bull X-Fighters 2008 tour events, but only a few were selected.
The Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2008 will feature five events in five different countries. Kicking off the tour will be Mexico City's Monumental Plaza de Toros, April 3rd and 4th, 2008. Next, in May 2008, the Red Bull X-Fighters will travel to South America to hit the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. That should be a crazy event.
X-Fighters goes to Europe after Brazil to tear up the land of gladiators: Rome, Italy. I hear the pope is a huge fan of FMX, so he's expected to show up in the arena in his popemobile pulling backflip cliffhangers and such. Watch out! June 14th, the Red Bull X-Fighters comes back to the States to Forth Worth Stockyards, Texas with FMX and the rodeo/bullriding theme. Yeehaw!
And finally, in July, X-Fighters will return to its home turf, the beautiful and respected bullring of Las Ventas in Madrid!
